Nicknamed El Chuco, El Paso is one of the largest cities in the US. The United States' largest urban park, the 9700 ha Franklin Mountains State Park is located at El Paso. The famous Rio Grande river also flows along the edge of the city and separates it from Mexico.
According to the 2011 Census, the city has a population of more than 672,000 people. In 2013, El Paso was also judged the safest city among all large cities in the US.

The Whyler Tramway
Who said you need to hire a helicopter to see El Paso from above? Not when you have the Whyler Tramway. The Whyler Aerial Tramway in Franklin Mountains State Park is one of the top tourist attractions in El Paso. The tram will take you to Ranger Peak which is located at a height of 5632 ft above sea level. Seems like a wonderful way to spend a warm Sunday morning, doesn't it?

Stay at The Camino Real Hotel
If you have not made reservations already, try booking in at The Camino Real Hotel, next to the El Paso Convention Center. Built in 1912, this hotel is a historical landmark. There are more than 350 guestrooms here.
The hotel's Dome Bar (with its Tiffany Dome) is world famous. GQ magazine has voted the Dome Bar as one of the top bars in the world. If you visit the bar on a Thursday, Friday or a Saturday, you will be treated to live music. The budget conscious should take advantage of the happy hours from 4.00 PM to 7.00 PM.
Enjoy the scenery
Scenic Drive offers one of the best view of the city from the mountains. You can even see Juarez from here. If you have a car, you can reach Scenic Drive easily. Go downtown, drive to Stanton Street North and take the right from Rim Road.
Sunday is even better, because on Sunday this place is closed to vehicles and you can take long leisurely walks with your partner.
Licon Dairy
If your partner loves animals, take them to Licon Dairy in Lower Valley. This dairy is famous for its Azedero cheese. It is also home to a large variety of animals such as deer, goats, donkeys, buffaloes, camels, and even llamas and ostrich, that you can hand feed.
Entry to the petting zoo and the park is free. There is also a fishing pond inside, which is stocked with fish on a weekly basis. For a small fee, you can try your hand at fishing. You can also take home souvenirs like cheese and other milk products from the in-house store.
